Peter Choe has over 25 years experience in IP counselling and litigation. He has been ranked by Lexpert in IP and by the IAM Patent 1000 as a top Patent Litigator for Canada.
Peter was a partner at a top Canadian Law firm for 20 years before starting Portmanteau Law. He has vast experience in copyright, trademark, patent and industrial designs, including as lead counsel at trials. His advisory work includes providing infringement and validity opinions. He has had a significant practice in anti-counterfeiting litigation involving copyright and trademarks, including obtaining Anton Piller Orders, Mareva Injunctions, and interim and interlocutory injunctions. His litigation cases involve parallel proceedings in the US, Canada, the UK and China.
His experience also includes complex bankruptcy litigation involving significant IP assets, involving multijurisdictional teams of dozens of lawyers.
He has regularly acted in product liability litigation in the automotive field for several manufacturers / distributors of cars in Canada, having acted on over 200 cases over the last decade.
